1. Why the Name "VIEW"? Is that an acronym?
VIEW is not an acronym. We chose the title because the word VIEW spoke clearly and in plain language about the tasks for which the instrument can be helpful. In ordinary use, the dictionary tells us that view means "to look at attentively," "to survey or examine mentally," "the extent or range of one's vision," or a "mode or manner of looking at or regarding something." Our goal is that using this tool will give individuals and groups a sound, clear, and helpful "view" of their preferred ways of solving problems and managing change and a constructive understanding and appreciation of different points of VIEW.
